Project Description

The EFA wider objectives: Increase Equal Opportunity and reducing the disparity in English proficiency; increase opportunities for study and teach abroad through improved English language skills; increase in institutional and national prestige; increase institutional standardization and internationalization – supporting students and lectures towards the use of academic literature and teaching materials in English ; improvement of the knowledge triangle – education – innovation – research through increased accessibility to international knowledge.

EFA specific objectives:

Master plan to enhance English knowledge in Israel HEI, and develop a work programme to enhance English knowledge in HE at a national level; Teaching in English of 4 courses of in each HEI; English language course for students; Multidisciplinary pilot e-course (Systematic Intensive Thinking) for undergraduate students, to be taught in English in both Israeli and EU HEI; Teachers Training course to support transfer of courses into English; Establish and maintain a website and portal.

The project’s outputs: A master plan and a work programme to enhance English knowledge in HE at a national level+ reports (WP1); 2 National workshops-teaching in English (WP1); Curricula translations to English +teaching materials (WP2); An English language course for Students+ teaching materials(WP3); An SIT e-course (WP4); A lecturers supporting course and workshops+ teaching materials (WP6); A project website and learning portal (WP5); An international meeting and internal seminars (WP7); EFA brochers and other publications(WP7); EFA architecture documentation(WP8); Consortium meetings(WP8); Inter-tempus coaching (WP9).

The project’s outcomes: Enhanced English skills in Israel; Bridging the gap between Jewish and Arab students; Greater graduate’s mobility; Enhanced competitive edge of graduates; Enhanced Israeli and EU academic world’s cooperation; and a network between participating HEI students in Israel and the EU.
