Project Description

The reasoning of this project stems from the fact that in Cyprus there is an ‘academic deficit’ when it comes to combining professional and academic expertise on EU-related issues. Thus, the main objective is to fill this gap by creating an active centre for education, where professionals, academics and students will enhance their knowledge, exchange views and examine issues pertinent to the history, prospects, diplomatic and political processes of European integration.

The main outputs envisaged are: (a) the development and modification of courses offered to undergraduate and graduate students at UNic in the area of European integration to fill the ‘gap’, (b) the hosting of a series of events that will contribute to the set objectives, and (c) the creation of a solid network among academics, students and professionals.

The main impact envisaged is: (a) the deepening of understanding among academics, students and public on Europeanization issues (e.g. diplomatic processes) and (b) the enhancement of UNIC’s presence as a centre for scholarly and political public dialogue on EU issues, which will enrich the academic quality of UNic and Cyprus as a whole.
