UNIC Health part of a €700k award for ground-breaking brain study infrastructure

UNIC Health announces a significant achievement through the combined efforts of our Veterinary and Medical School faculty. Our successful participation in the Small Infrastructure Call of the Research Promotion Foundation has resulted in a research award of approximately €700,000.This funding will be instrumental in establishing a first of its kind infrastructure in Cyprus for functional brain studies using animal models of human diseases. This initiative is not only a first for Cyprus but also a significant step forward in the field of neurological research.Leading this ground-breaking project are Assistant Professor Nikolas Perentos, from the School of Veterinary Medicine, and Professor Avgis Hadjipapas, from the Medical School. Their expertise in electrophysiology will be pivotal in the development of this advanced research infrastructure.This project is further strengthened by our collaboration with partners from the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics and the Cyprus University of Technology.UNIC Health extends its congratulations to all involved in this significant project and looks forward to the positive outcomes it will bring to the scientific and medical communities.
