UNIC now has an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Strategy

In its efforts to address the practice and implementation of a holistic approach towards equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), the University of Nicosia has put forward a strategy that seeks to fill in any gaps and uncertainties over how we understand and embrace all of our community members. The UNIC community is a vibrant, diverse, and warm collective that stands out in so many ways: from creativity to innovation, and from scientific to artistic approaches, every single individual should be allowed to freely express themselves, however they wish.

UNIC is dedicated to raising awareness among its staff, faculty, students, associates,  and partners, by pursuing a set of strategic objectives aimed at promoting equity, safety, security, and embracing the unique qualities of each individual in our University and extended community. With that being said, the University has pioneered in its innovative approach, by launching earlier in 2022 its Centre for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (CEDI), a research, events, and policy centre. Substantial steps have also taken place in other fields, as we have published our Gender Equality Plan (GEP) and our recent Sustainability Strategy. At the same time, our institution remains fully committed to our vision of positively shaping the world, starting with UNIC, by building bridges between our city and the wider community, engaging with partners nationwide, and sharing our knowledge, experience, and approach with the international community.
