Professor Christos Panayides

Dr Christos Panayides is professor of philosophy and is currently the Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Nicosia.  He holds a B.A. (Hons) in Philosophy from the College of New Jersey (U.S.A.), an MSc (Dist.) in Ancient Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh (U.K.), and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Alberta (Canada).  He has taught at universities abroad and in Cyprus: King’s College London; The College of New Jersey; The University of Alberta; The Open University, Cyprus.  He has served as a member of the Academic Council of the Greek Civilization Program at the Open University of Cyprus, and as a referee for peer-reviewed journals (U.K. and U.S.A.).  His research interests focus on the following areas: Aristotle, especially metaphysics, epistemology, and philosophy of science; Plato; Presocratics; Contemporary issues in metaphysics and philosophy of science.  His work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals.
