Dr Katerina Morphi

Dr Katerina Morphi has a bachelor’s degree in Economics, a master’s degree in Accounting and Finance and a PhD degree in Accounting. She is a lecturer of financial accounting courses at the University of Nicosia.

Dr Katerina Morphi’s research interest is financial accounting and reporting. More specifically she is interested in the motivations that managers have to engage in earnings management. She is also interested in how corporate governance variables can act as disincentives for earnings management. Finally, Dr Katerina Morphi is interested in how the accounting standards provide managers with opportunities to engage in earnings management.
