The Career Success Centre is organising a series of online webinars with guest speakers on how students can increase their employment opportunities and skills required in the job market. 

The webinar will discuss the mission and story behind the MELCO company, a developer, owner and operator of casino gaming and entertainment casino resort facilities in Asia. The webinar will also present the City of Dreams Mediterranean, Cyprus’ first integrated casino resort, the only one of its kind in Europe, which is expected to open its doors in 2021. Participants will have the opportunity to watch video testimonials, a tour of the City of Dreams Mediterranean and inquire the career prospects in the company and future vacancies.

Kyriakos Yiangou,
Training & Development Manager

Kyriakos is the Training & Development Manager of Melco Cyprus. His duties include the management of all training & development activities of the company such as training programmes, relevant policies & procedures and general HR duties. A big part of his job involves planning, designing, facilitating and evaluating training programmes.

Kyriakos with the rest of the T&D team must ensure that upon the opening of the Casino Resort all 2500 employees will have the required knowledge, skills and attitude. It’s worth mentioning that training employees also involve many compliance related programmes on Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Corruption, Health & Safety and more.

He has solid experience as a training professional in the hospitality sector, having previously worked for Costa Cruises of Carnival Corporation, one of the largest cruise operators in the world. He is an HRDA Cyprus accredited trainer and a UK Chartered Institute of Personnel Development as well as British Psychological Society member. He holds a CIPD Diploma in Learning & Development and a BA & MSc in Psychology.

Valentina Charalambous,
Talent Acquisition Manager

Valentina leads the mass recruitment/talent acquisition activities for the Cyprus Casinos brand of the company and for the upcoming EUR500m project the biggest casino resort in Europe, the employer branding strategy, the internal career opportunities, the design and implementation of all recruitment policies and procedures and the design and finalization of all Job Descriptions. She is also a member of the CSR committee of MELCO in Cyprus.

As part of the pre-opening team in Cyprus, along with the rest of the talent acquisition team managed to expand the company from 8 to 730 employees. The current operation will be increased into 2,500 employees for COD Mediterranean.

Valentina is always looking for passionate people that strive for customer service experiences, people that love to be ambassadors of MELCO. She holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Cyprus and an MSc in Management with a specialisation in Human Resources Management from Cyprus International Institute of Management.
