Continuing with our commitment towards reducing our environmental impact, and to celebrate the International Day on Environment on 5 June, the Centre for Green Development and Energy Policy and the Environment Sub-committee of the University would like to invite you to a ‘Green Mobility Week at Work’.

As the name implies, faculty, staff and students participating in the event are encouraged to come to the University via the following modes (from Tuesday, 2 June to Friday, 5 June):

  • Walking
  • Cycling
  • Taking public transport
  • Car sharing
  • Using green vehicles (such as hybrid cars)

We are pleased to inform you that the top management of the University is strongly supporting this initiative and would like to encourage as many as possible to participate.

How to participate

Prior to the event, participants will need to provide us with certain information on registration that will help us calculate the overall reduction of the carbon footprint. If you wish to participate, please send an email to Dr. Marios Valiantis ([email protected]), who will contact you for further information.

Press Conference

On the last day of the ‘Green Mobility Week at Work’ initiative, on Friday 5 June, we will be organizing a Press Conference on ‘Recycling – Everyone’s Duty’ (‘Ανακύκλωση – Υποχρέωση Όλων’). During the press conference, we will inform the press about the various ‘green’ activities our University has undertaken to date, and announce our future events concerning the environment. We will also announce the results of the carbon reduction achieved throughout ‘Green Mobility Week at Work’. Lastly, Green Dot and AFIS will present the first prize award to our winning team of the AFIS business competition that took place last month. Attached you can find the invitation for the Press Conference.
