EMSI 4th Annual Conference

The International Conference invites Calls for Papers 

The interdisciplinary conference aims to bring together scholars and practitioners from diverse fields, including international relations, political science, political economy, law, political communication, sociology, energy and environmental studies, governance, media studies, technology studies, anthropology, history and cultural analysis.

It welcomes theoretical, methodological and empirical submissions, case studies and comparative work by scholars and practitioners with particular research and/or professional interest in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The conference aims to act as a focal point in connecting academia, political practice and industry. Accordingly, in addition to the leading scholars and practitioners who will participate in the conference, we welcome workshops and seminars to propose and promote innovative projects, discuss ideas and share best practices regarding the themes of the conference. PhD candidates and junior scholars are also welcome to submit their work.

SPEAKERS

Thucydides Honorary Lecture
Jonathan Elkind is a Fellow and Senior Adjunct Research Scholar at the Center on Global Energy Policy. From 2009 to 2014, he worked on international energy and climate issues at the United States Department of Energy, serving ultimately as Assistant Secretary for International Affairs.

Keynote Speaker
Andrey Kortunov is the Director General of the Russian International Affairs Council, as well as the President of the New Development Technologies Autonomous Non-profit Organization. He is a member of expert and supervisory committees and boards of trustees of several Russian and international organizations. His academic interests include contemporary international relations and Russian foreign policy.
