Parking Policy

The University’s priorities are to run a safe, equitable and efficient system for parking. Those who park on campus will be deemed to have accepted this policy as the terms and conditions which apply while on University property.

The University will strive to ensure that parking is managed in such a way that its users are able to park safely and efficiently.  It does not however guarantee access to individual spaces and is entirely at the owner’s risk.  The University accepts no responsibility for any theft of vehicles, or any loss from or damage to vehicles parked on University parking.

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Parking in a Handicapped space (without display of a handicapped sign)
  • Parking in a loading zone (these are the zones with yellow lines)
  • Blocking entrances and emergency exits
  • Blocking handicapped ramps
  • Double parking
  • Parking on yellow lines
  • Taking more than one space

Leaving your engine running while parked or loading/unloading is also not permitted.  Please note that this practice is also very bad for the environment.

Parking a vehicle, other than a University fleet vehicle, overnight is prohibited unless by prior arrangements.
