Non-EU students must comply with the relevant University and Migration Authority regulations once they arrive in Cyprus, in order to register for classes and complete the required residence permit procedures.

When to Visit the University

Upon your arrival in Cyprus, it is important to visit the Department of Admissions during office hours, Monday–Friday, 9:00–17:00, in order to register and receive further information regarding Migration procedures, University orientation, scheduled trips, and other important matters.

Residence Permit After Arrival

Non-EU students who enter Cyprus for studies are required to complete the post-arrival residence permit process in accordance with the requirements of the Cyprus Migration Department.

Upon arrival in Cyprus, students should visit the Department of Admissions for guidance on the post-arrival procedure and relevant costs. Students should not delay this process, as the application must be completed within the required timeframe.

Documents may include the entry permit, passport and arrival stamp, confirmation of registration, health insurance confirmation, accommodation/rental agreement, local bank statement showing the required funds, and medical examination results issued in Cyprus. Additional documents may be required depending on the programme of study or the relevant authorities.

Students are responsible for submitting all required documents on time and maintaining valid immigration status. Requirements and procedures may be updated, and students must follow the latest instructions provided by the University and the Cyprus Migration Department.

Feeling at Home

For most of you this is the first time away from your homes and families. Along with the feeling of excitement which comes with every adventure and new beginning you also feel the increased responsibility you have taken on. Along with these concerns there is also the feeling of homesickness that students need to tackle. Feeling homesick is common and perfectly normal for all students that choose to pursue their studies away from home. All of us here at the University of Nicosia, both faculty and staff, understand all the difficulties and concerns students are faced with trying to adapt to a new culture and way of life. We have thus taken steps into ensuring that your transition into your new way of life takes place as smoothly as possible.
