Academic Admission

The minimum admission requirement to an undergraduate programme of study is a recognized High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) or equivalent internationally recognized qualification(s). Students with a lower HSLC grade than 7.5/10 or 15/20 or equivalent depending on the grading system of the country issuing the HSLC are provided with extra academic guidance and monitoring during the first year of their studies.

In addition to the above, applicants must also satisfy the following requirements:

Applicants will be required to submit an approximately one-minute motivational video presenting their vision and explaining why they wish to study this specific programme. The videos will be evaluated and a candidate will be offered a place only if they receive a Satisfactory score of 3 in all categories of the assessment rubric.

English Language Proficiency

The list below provides the minimum English Language Requirements (ELR) for enrollment to the programme of study. Students who do not possess any of the qualifications or stipulated grades listed below and hold IELTS with 4.5 and above, are required to take UNIC’s NEPTON English Placement Test (with no charge) and will receive English Language support classes.

Course assessment usually comprises of a comprehensive final exam and continuous assessment. Continuous assessments are designed to ensure alignment with the intended learning outcomes and reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum. Assessments include:

• written examinations (open/closed book, essays, problem-solving tasks);
• oral examinations and presentations to evaluate communication and critical reasoning;
• project reports, policy briefs, and case studies, particularly in courses related to management, governance, and cooperation;
• research essays and empirical analyses, with a strong emphasis on methodological rigor in data analysis courses;
• practical assignments in laboratories, focusing on data management and applied health-related tasks.

Evaluation criteria are transparent and harmonized across the consortium. While national practices may vary slightly, partners ensure that grading policies remain consistent, following a joint grading table.

Letter grades are calculated based on the weight of the final exam and the continuous assessment and the actual numerical marks obtained in these two assessment components. Based on the course grades the student’s semester grade point average (GPA) and cumulative point average (CPA) are calculated.

The student must complete 180 ECTS and all programme requirements.

Thus, graduation requires:

• Completion of all compulsory courses (132 ECTS).
• Completion of elective courses (30 ECTS).
• Completion of the Bachelor Thesis (9 ECTS).
• Completion of the Traineeship (9 ECTS).
• Fulfilment of the mandatory two‑semester mobility across partner universities.
• Compliance with institutional academic regulations (assessment, progression, integrity).

A minimum cumulative grade point average (CPA) of 2.0 is required. Thus, although a ‘D-‘ is a PASS grade, in order to achieve a CPA of 2.0 an average grade of ‘C’ is required.

Upon successful completion of this program, the students should be able to:

1. Analyse global health challenges through an interdisciplinary perspective, integrating knowledge from social sciences, management, policy analysis, and global development to understand health inequalities, institutional frameworks, and international cooperation dynamics.
2. Apply principles of management, governance, and policy analysis to evaluate and support decision-making processes in public, private, and non-profit health-related organisations, with attention to ethical, legal, and sustainability dimensions.
3. Collect, manage, and analyse health-related data using qualitative and quantitative methods, statistical tools, and information systems, in order to support evidence-based research, policy design, and organisational strategies in global health contexts.
4. Apply effective communication across cultural and professional contexts, using appropriate oral, written, and digital communication strategies to engage diverse stakeholders, support intercultural collaboration, and disseminate health-related information responsibly.
5. Integrate knowledge of global health and sustainability across the life course, demonstrating an integrated understanding of epidemiology, environmental health, nutrition, and demographic change, and contributing to inclusive, sustainable, and socially responsible health solutions.
