Admission Criteria

The program admits students in the Fall and Spring semesters. Applications for admission to the program will be considered only from candidates that fulfill the minimum entrance criteria as described below:

Prospective students should be holders of one of the following Bachelor degrees: Law, Political Science, Public Administration, International Studies, European Studies, International Relations, or any other relevant degree.
Students satisfy the English language requirements if their first degree was taught in English. Otherwise, they would need to present an average TOEFL score of 500, GCSE “O” Level with minimum “C” or IELTS with a score of an average 5.5-6, or a score placement at the ENGL-100 level of the University English Placement Test. The University offers English courses at various levels to help students reach the required standard for admission to a graduate program.

Other admission requirements include two recommendation letters and a letter by the prospective student expressing his/her interest in following the program. For further information, please consult with the Admissions Department of the University.

Letter grades are calculated based on the weight of the final exam and the continuous assessment and the actual numerical marks obtained in these two assessment components. Based on the course grades the student’s semester grade point average (GPA) and cumulative point average (CPA) are calculated.

A minimum cumulative grade point average (CPA) of 2.0 is required. Thus, although a ‘D-’ is a PASS grade, in order to achieve a CPA of 2.0 an average grade of ‘C’ is required.

Upon successful completion of this program, the students should be able to:

1. 1. Develop knowledge of basic concepts, principles and theories in the fields of Public Law and Political Science.
   2. Demonstrate skills related to the content and to the particular objects of the cognitive field.
   3. Apply the necessary methodological tools in order to conduct independent research on specific issues or problems in the specialist fields of Public Law and Political Science.
   4. Utilise the basic concepts, principles and theories, as well his/her specific knowledge of the various objects of the cognitive field, in order to conduct the aforementioned independent research.
   5. Combine in an interdisciplinary manner the methodological and cognitive tools of legal and political science respectively, in order to deliver innovative approaches and proposals.
   6. Develop his/her own specific theories on which to base the interdisciplinary and methodical approach to specific issues and problems.
   7. Combine theoretical and empirical knowledge, so as to be able to treat simple or complex issues that arise in professional areas of interest.
   8. Identify priority issues, which deserve analysis and evaluation at national, European or international level.
   9. Implement the necessary analytical, organisational, managerial, and communication skills required in order to get involved in his/her professional fields of interest, both nationally and internationally.
   10. Utilise the necessary supplies and the associated culture in the pursuit of continuous improvement of his/her individual skills and competencies after the completion of studies.

Evaluate and propose improvements in institutional organization systems and in procedures related to the subjects of the programme, especially in processes of the wider area of public administration
