Important Information Regarding the Completion of the Spring 2020 Semester

Dear Students,

Following on from previous messages, we would like to inform you of the following recent developments and decisions:

Completing the Spring 2020 Semester on Time

The University of Nicosia has taken all necessary steps to ensure you remain on track to complete the current Spring Semester 2020, as per our academic calendar. Both the academic and administrative functions of the University continue to operate remotely, thereby ensuring your smooth and uninterrupted academic progression. 

Online Teaching Continues Until the End of the Semester

All classes (including lab / studio / music / dance courses, etc.) are now offered remotely, while ensuring that learning outcomes are achieved through alternative methods that meet European standards and quality guidelines in Higher Education. The online teaching of courses will continue until the end of Spring Semester 2020, which means students who are abroad do not need to make travel plans to return to Cyprus.

Final Examinations | Alternate Assessment Methods

Face-to-face invigilated final written examinations will be replaced by alternative methods of assessment, such as oral examinations, portfolio creation, open book examinations, electronically invigilated written examinations – in full alignment with the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education’s quality standards and guidelines, as announced on 31 March 2020 ( 

Issuance of Award Titles (Degrees)

Students who have fulfilled all programme requirements may apply for graduation at (under Academic tab). This application will commence the process of verifying your academic record and your inclusion on the alumni lists. Award Titles (degrees) are expected to be issued approximately two weeks after the end of the examination period in accordance with existing regulations and procedures, and will be available electronically through the UNIC Portal. If circumstances allow, the original certificate will be sent via post. 

Graduation Ceremony

The June Graduation Ceremonies are postponed. The new dates will be announced at a later stage, with the aim of organising them, if possible, sometime in September 2020.
