The CRISIS project (Competences for Resilient Smart Cities’ Staff) is closely aligned with current European policies, aiming to contribute significantly to the advancement of digital skills within smart cities while concurrently bolstering urban resilience. This initiative places a distinct emphasis on enhancing digital, transferrable, resilience, and smart city-related competences for individuals aspiring to pursue employment opportunities and careers as Smart City Resilient Officers (SCROs).

The upcoming event, “Smart Cities: Resilience and Way Forward”, promises to be a unique opportunity to engage in insightful discussions, visionary perspectives, and a collaborative exploration of the path ahead for Smart Cities. The event will commence with a warm welcome from Prof. Angelika Kokkinaki, the Dean of the School of Business. Greetings will follow from the Foundation for the Management of European Lifelong Learning Programmes. The event will then delve into the visions of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, and the Nicosia Municipality on Smart Cities. In addition, it will explore the human factor in Smart Cities through an overview of the CRISIS & OpenDCO Projects by Prof. P. Fitsilis from the University of Thessaly and Prof. A. Kokkinaki from the University of Nicosia. The journey forward unfolds with a dynamic panel discussion featuring CRISIS-OPENDCO stakeholders and partners, concluding with insightful remarks.
