Seminar 13: “PhD Coordinators/Directors and Supervisors: Roles and Responsibilities”

The support and guidance that PhD students receive from their Supervisory Team and PhD Coordinator/Director is of outmost importance. Further, PhD Coordinators/Directors and Supervisors should know well their Roles and their Responsibilities to the student and the university. This presentation outlines and explains the above in great detail.

The “PhD Coordinators/Directors and Supervisors: Roles and Responsibilities” document, which will be presented during this webinar, is aligned with the Code of Practice and Regulations for Doctoral Programmes, of which Version 5 was approved by the PhD Board and Senate in January 2021. A presentation of the DSO forms, their purpose as well as an explanation as to when and how these are completed and signed will also be provided.

All PhD Programme Coordinators and Supervisors are encouraged to attend this presentation.
