University of Nicosia stands by its Lebanese students

Supporting the wider relief effort to Lebanon

The University of Nicosia community sympathises with the Lebanese people during this challenging time, following last week’s tragic explosion and its unfolding repercussions to their lives and livelihoods.

Our collective thoughts and wishes go out especially to our affected students and alumni, as well as to their families, whom we are in continuous communication with across many channels, in our effort to provide the best possible support at this time.

We are thankful our Lebanese students were out of harm’s way during the blast. Nevertheless, this is understandably a trying time for everyone involved, one that will require ongoing support in the weeks and months ahead.

In that vein, the University is actively supporting various local initiatives, including the huge pancyprian effort by ARAMEX Cyprus, championed by Leyana Daccache, a Lebanese UNIC alumna, which has managed to assemble close to 10 tons of foodstuffs, clothing and medical supplies for immediate emergency aid.
