Dr Marios Hadjicharalambous holds a BSc degree in Sports Science & Physical Education (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece), an MSc degree in Sports Science: Fitness & Health (Essex University, UK) and a PhD degree in Exercise Physiology focusing in Sports Nutrition (Glasgow University, UK). He is currently a Professor and the Coordinator of the Sports Science programme at the University of Nicosia, Cyprus. Dr Hadjicharalambous has published several scientific reports in peer reviewed journals and he was also scientific consultant and exercise physiologist in several professional football teams in Cyprus. He is teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level courses such as Exercise Physiology, Sports Nutrition and Fitness testing. He has also supervised so far four PhD theses.

His main research interests include:

  • Nutritional and ergogenic aid manipulation and exercise performance;
  • Fitness testing, training adaptations and biological responses in young and mature elite athletes;
  • Physical activity, fitness development and health;
  • Game analysis, training planning and performance in elite soccer.
