Workplace sexual harassment can manifest in various forms and have serious implications for the wellbeing of those affected. This one-hour seminar aims to deepen awareness of sexual harassment in the workplace by providing insights into relevant legislation, theoretical and empirical perspectives, as well as facilitating discussions and reflective exercises. Its primary goal is to equip and empower individuals with the necessary tools to identify and address such behavior appropriately.

Dr Fani Papayianni

Clinical Supervisor, Centre for Therapy, Training and Research (KESY), UNIC

Dr Fani Papayianni is a registered Counselling Psychologist in both the UK and Cyprus and a Registered Applied Psychology Practice Supervisor with the British Psychological Society. She completed her psychology degree at the University of Cyprus, followed by doctoral studies at Glasgow Caledonian University (Scotland), where she graduated in 2013. Subsequently, she remained in Scotland for five years where she worked as a practitioner, researcher, and lecturer at the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University. In 2018 she relocated to Cyprus where she established her private practice, providing psychological services to the public. Furthermore, Dr. Papayianni served as a board member of the Cypriot Registration Board for Psychologists, and is a founding member of the Division of Counselling Psychology in the Cyprus Psychologists’ Association. She has also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cyprus and associate lecturer at the University of Cyprus and the European University Cyprus. Currently, alongside her private practice, she serves as a Clinical Supervisor for Counselling and Clinical Psychology trainees at the University of Nicosia and for Forensic Psychology trainees at the University of Central Lancashire Cyprus. Her research interests include resilience, meta-therapeutic communication, meaning-making, social justice and post-traumatic growth.

The webinar is for faculty and staff members of the University of Nicosia and affiliated institutions.
