Eastern Mediterranean Studies Initiative (EMSI) announces a New Video Podcast Series: “COVID-19 Implications and the Eastern Mediterranean”

The Eastern Mediterranean Studies Initiative (EMSI) of the University of Nicosia (UNIC) announces a new video podcast series which will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas in a stimulating dialogue on energy, geopolitics, economics, development and environmental aspects in the Eastern Mediterranean and the wider Middle East by senior executives, practitioners, experts, officials and thought leaders from government, industry and academia.

The first series of EMSI video podcasts is titled “COVID-19 Implications and the Eastern Mediterranean” and examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the region as it relates to geopolitics and energy.

Topics will include:

a) The Impact of COVID-19 on Bilateral and Trilateral Relations in the Eastern Mediterranean

b) Power Games in the Eastern Mediterranean: The Future of Offshore Drilling and Trilateral Partnerships after COVID-19,

c) Migration in the Eastern Mediterranean and COVID-19

d) the Impact of COVID-19 on the Global Oil and Gas Industry

e) Middle East Security during COVID-19

f) The European Green Deal and the Future of Clean Energy in the Eastern Mediterranean

The episodes will be live and the audience may submit their questions and comments on the Eastern Mediterranean Studies Initiative (EMSI) Facebook page.
