You have a chance to attend over forty (40) specialised webinars, virtual open days and presentations, live or on tape, delivered by the University’s faculty between 27 April and 15 May.   • The Emerging Era of Human Resource: The Challenges of AI & Blockchain in Talent Acquisition: 5 May, 11:00-12:00. We live in a Digital Era, in which a clear understanding of how technology impacts strategies, processes and activities is crucial for enterprises. In the last three decades, scholars and practitioners have showed an increasing interest in investigating how technology is changing the Human Resource function, its design and processes. The webinar aims to investigate the role of the major technological trends on the evolution of Human Resource Management processes, considering AI, Big Data & Analytics, Social Media and hiring practices in the digital era.
  • Resilience of Hospitality and Tourism Industry: 6 May, 14:00-15:00. The Hospitality and Tourism Industry has been always been facing challenges, including from natural disasters, geopolitics, economic crises, epidemics and, now, a pandemic. Hospitality and Tourism students are trained to be resilient and find solutions in crises, as every day challenges are enormous.   • Jazz Dance Class for a Healthy Lifestyle: 6 May, 20:00-21:00. April is Stress Awareness Month.  During the current Coronavirus Pandemic, you may be feeling extra stressed. Thankfully, there are activities that can help you manage your stress in a healthy way, like dance!  Dancing can also boost your mood and provide enjoyment, while it is a wonderful way to add physical activity into the day. It can even help manage the stress of school exams. With so many benefits to dance, we invite you to participate in a free, live virtual dance session.
  • Corporations, Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs: Marketing Practices after a Pandemic: 11 May, 13:00-14:00. Marketing practices have been evolving during the last few years. Principles of Marketing have remained the same, but the practices of Marketing – how we do Marketing – has changed significantly. The current Pandemic has shaken every normality we knew, taking the business world by surprise. But with the principles of Marketing still remaining in place, what has happened to the practices of Marketing? Have they stopped? Have they changed? Have they adapted?   • Discover Skills of the Future While Staying at Home: 13 May, 18:00-19:00. Want to know which skills will make you relevant in the future regardless of the changing job market? Join us to find out more about which skills and competencies will make you future-proof! Job market trends are shifting, mainly due to technological acceleration. Twelve-year-olds today will be working in professions that haven’t been invented yet. Technology is transforming many current professions, while making others redundant. So, how do we prepare the next generation for careers and jobs that do not yet exist? How do we bridge the skills gap, apparent around the global job market? The common answer is: Human and Soft Skills, e.g. emotional intelligence, adaptability, resilience. Also, of utter importance in adapting to an uncertain future is the ability to learn how to learn vs. what to learn.
  • Spatial Experiences of Tomorrow: 15 May, 17:00-18:00. The purpose of the online seminar is to familiarise participants with the creative professions of the built environment. A series of presentations by faculty members of the Department of Architecture will afford an insight into the exciting worlds of Architecture and Interior Design and their projection into the future. The discussion will provide an in-depth look into the professions of Architecture and Interior Design, as well as into the structure of the respective academic programmes of study. Creative research carried out by students and faculty members of the Department will be used to demonstrate the multiple dimensions of environmental, technological and spatial investigations, and how these relate to the societies of the future.
