COVID-19 Travel Advice for Students, Faculty and Staff

We would like to inform students, faculty and staff who have recently travelled abroad that the Ministry of Health revised its travel directive for travelers returning in the last 14 days without having any symptoms and categorised the countries as follows:

Category 1

  • China (Hubei)
  •  Italy
  • Iran
  • South Korea

Those that have recently travelled (last 14 days) to the above countries should stay in isolation under medical monitoring.

Category 2

  • Rest of China (except Hubei)
  • Japan
  • Hong Kong
  • Germany
  • France
  • Spain
  • Greece
  • UK

Those that have recently travelled (last 14 days) to the above countries should stay at home in self-isolation or at premises managed by the Ministry of Health under telephone supervision (avoid close contact and travel, maintain basic hygiene rules, monitor and report symptoms with the Coronavirus call centre at 1420).

Category 3

  • Switzerland
  • Netherlands
  • Sweden
  • Belgium
  • Singapore

Those who have recently travelled (last 14 days) to the above countries should monitor their condition without any restrictions and in case of symptoms, should self-isolate at home and report it to the Ministry of Health Call Centre (1420) mentioning their travel history.

For Students

In case you belong to CATEGORY 1 or 2 above, please inform immediately by phone, the Department of Student Affairs and the Health and Safety Office for further details regarding self-isolation. Appropriate arrangements will be made so that your learning process is not disrupted. Please contact your Academic Advisor (Christos Theocleous, Tel. :+357 22841524, Email: [email protected]), who will liaise with your lecturers to make these arrangements.

For Faculty & Staff

In case you belong to CATEGORIES 1 or 2 above, we request that you work from home for a period of 14 days from your return. Faculty members should discuss with their Head of Department/Dean of School/Vice Rector for Academic Affairs arrangements (e.g. e-learning delivery, temporary replacement of the faculty member during this period), so that the learning process of the students is not disrupted. Administrative staff should contact their supervisor and VP of HR to make appropriate arrangements.
