UNIC Evolve is a moonshot initiative to build district-scale operating systems for biological AI, designed to run across campuses, hospitals, hospitality, food service, residential, and other complex real-world environments. The 2030s will be defined by superintelligence and inexpensive actuation through general-purpose robotics. UNIC Evolve’s thesis is that the most important use of this abundance is enhancing human wellness at population scale: healthspan, longevity, and biodefense.

Closing The Loop in Free-Living Conditions

Delivering that promise in free-living conditions where people eat, sleep, learn, work, socialize, and get exposed turns it into a full-stack problem. Closing the loop from biological measurement to real-world delivery requires precision medicine and genomics, but also analytical chemistry and food science; agricultural and biological engineering; epidemiology, biostatistics, and causal inference; robotics and mechanical engineering; and building physics and aerosol science (including computational fluid dynamics and environmental exposure modeling).

Reliability at Scale, Orchestrated by an AI Layer

It also requires the disciplines that make systems reliable at scale: hospitality and foodservice operations, supply chain and procurement, facilities management, control and optimization, quality systems and safety engineering, and the legal, regulatory, security, and privacy-by-design foundations for deployment, all orchestrated by an AI layer that runs the closed loop from measurement to prediction to real-world delivery.

Why a District-Scale Living Lab

This outcome cannot be delivered by life-sciences labs, hospitals, data centers, or software in isolation, because the target setting is everyday life. This is why UNIC Evolve is building the UNIC Athens campus district within The Ellinikon smart city as the world’s first district-scale living lab for biological AI: a purpose-designed environment that combines teaching, research, offices, residential, hospitality, food service, and deep omics in one coherent system. It closes the loop end-to-end: train on dense real-world data, operate premium services continuously under real constraints, learn, and verify outcomes across seasons, buildings, and populations.

Two Tightly Coupled Layers

More concretely, UNIC Evolve is built as two tightly coupled layers:

  • A real-time measurement and modeling layer: human, food, building, and city twins that turn free-living reality into high-resolution, auditable data streams.
  • A real-world execution layer: an operating system for buildings and robotics that turns those measurements into premium, personalized services in daily life, then measures results and learns.

The Measurement Layer

The first component is the measurement layer. The twins provide a continuously updated picture of what matters in free-living conditions, with the rigor of an advanced life-sciences lab: what people actually consumed and its molecular composition (macros, micros, and bioactives such as phenolics), what the air and indoor environment actually were (particulates, VOCs, humidity, CO2, ventilation state), what exposure and pathogen signals were present (for example air, surfaces, and wastewater), and how key outcomes changed over time in biomarkers, performance, and resilience.

The Execution Layer and Flagship Outputs

The second component is the execution layer. It turns model outputs into reliable action in the physical world through continuous, frontier-grade health omics: longitudinal measurement of physiology, exposures, and response, with early warning and individualized optimization. It then delivers three flagship outputs as everyday infrastructure: personalized nutrition (ultra-bioactive, pleasure-first meals grown and sourced to maximize beneficial compounds while minimizing contaminants and residues, then robotically prepared and delivered to match each individual’s biology and preferences), living environments designed for performance, health, and comfort, and low-friction defenses against infectious exposure.

Wellness Infrastructure Beyond the Hospital

UNIC Evolve targets the part of life that dominates long-term health outcomes: everything outside the hospital. In a world with ASI and general-purpose robotics, it becomes economically feasible to deliver a continuous, high-touch, “billionaire-grade” health and lifestyle service to everyone. If that becomes everyday infrastructure, its impact on healthspan and longevity will exceed what pharmaceuticals and clinical care can achieve on their own, because it prevents chronic disease from taking hold and provides early warning for clinical conditions when they do appear.

From Science Fiction to Reliable Utility

Delivering this at scale today is science fiction. But clean water at population scale was once science fiction as well. Clean water required breakthroughs in chemistry and microbiology, physical infrastructure, rigorous standards, and continuous monitoring and operations. Now it is a reliable utility that quietly prevents enormous disease burden. UNIC Evolve’s 2030s thesis is that wellness infrastructure can follow the same arc on a highly accelerated schedule if intelligence and actuation become cheap, reliable, and widely available. UNIC Evolve is being built to make that happen.

A Globally Scalable Partner Platform

UNIC Evolve is being built as a globally scalable platform, with a coalition of current and future partners: universities and research centers, biotech and pharma, hospitals and public health agencies, AI and robotics partners, building and city operators, food and agriculture producers, standards bodies, and governments. It is explicitly grounded in a scenario where ASI and general-purpose robotics emerge in the 2030s. If that world arrives, we want the default application to be something society can clearly endorse and deploy to deliver measurably better day-to-day lives, longer healthy years, and far stronger resilience to biological threats.
