Professor Peter McCrorie was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to medical education, curriculum design, and quality assurance in the UK and internationally.

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), was awarded an honorary Doctor of Medicine degree by the University of Nicosia Medical School during the 10th graduation ceremony in June 2024. The recognition came in light of his leadership at the WHO, particularly in global health efforts such as pandemic preparedness and public health promotion.
