The International Relations and European Affairs Club (IREA Club) is an organisation run by the students of the Department of Politics and Governance of the University of Nicosia. It aims to promote interest in international relations and related issues among all the students of the University of Nicosia. The Club closely cooperates with the Department of Politics and Governance in the organisation of its events, additional support, and mentorship. Some of the past events organised by the IREA Club include a visit to the abandoned Nicosia Airport in the United Nations’ buffer zone, student debates on the topic of choice of the participants, discussions with guest speakers on various issues, such as inclusion of women and the European elections of 2024, as well as immersive interactive workshops, such as the « Destination Europe » workshop on immigration, co-organised with the « Generation for Change Cyprus ». All the events of the club are open to all UNIC students.
