Department of Politics and Governance

Department of Politics and Governance

The economic, political and social issues surrounding Cyprus, the Eastern Mediterranean and the broader region, the EU and the international arena are in a state of constant flux. The programmes offered by the department aim to address the impact of these issues by focusing on specialised areas that enable students to pursue a career in the field of International Relations, European Studies and Public Administration. We provide thorough grounding in the knowledge and skills that the students need to become professionals in a variety of relevant employment settings. Graduates can follow careers in international organisations, government, multinational companies, and educational institutions. The department has established an international reputation on European Union and Eastern Mediterranean studies. It has a senior-level faculty pool and the leading International Relations research team in Cyprus, which has been heavily represented on the Cyprus National Geostrategic Council. It provides remarkable opportunities for degree-seeking students looking to specialise in the region, or for study abroad/exchange students aiming to enhance their skills and capabilities in a concentrated manner.
