UNIC and PLAKENTIA Group launch veterinary training partnership

The University of Nicosia School of Veterinary Medicine and PLAKENTIA Group of Veterinary Clinics are pleased to announce their partnership, effective this year.

This collaboration brings together the academic expertise of the University of Nicosia with the clinical experience of PLAKENTIA’s extensive network of veterinary facilities including veterinary clinics in Athens (Agia Paraskevi & Alimos), Thessaloniki, and Syros island. The partnership expands the clinical training and clinical research opportunities of the School, beyond Cyprus.

Professor Zoe Polizopoulou, Interim Dean of the UNIC School of Veterinary Medicine, stated: ‘This partnership marks a significant development in our veterinary medicine programme. Access to PLAKENTIA’s network of modern clinical facilities across Greece will provide our students with diverse practical experience in small animal medicine. It also opens possibilities for joint research initiatives between both institutions’.

Dr Ignatios Liapis, President of the Board of Directors at PLAKENTIA Group, commented: ‘We welcome this collaboration with the University of Nicosia School of Veterinary Medicine. By combining our clinical expertise with the University’s academic excellence, we are creating valuable opportunities for the next generation of veterinary professionals’.

The agreement represents a significant step in enhancing veterinary education and clinical practice in Cyprus, Greece, and the region.
