University of Nicosia Students Participate in Flagship European Conference on Sustainable Tourism
Students from the University of Nicosia (UNIC) took part in the prestigious European Conference on Sustainable Tourism – 20 Years of CSTI, held on 27 February 2026, at the Philoxenia Centre in Nicosia. With the UNIC School of Business serving as the academic partner, the event was organized under the auspices of the European Presidency and celebrated 20 years of advancements of the Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative.
The conference brought together experts, policymakers, and academics to discuss strategies for balancing tourism growth with environmental preservation and community benefits. UNIC students from the School of Business and the Hospitality and Tourism programme actively engaged in panel discussions and networking sessions, gaining firsthand insights into cutting-edge practices. “Our students demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm and expertise during the conference,” said Prof. Kokkinaki, Dean of the School of Business at UNIC. Their participation underscores UNIC’s commitment to preparing the next generation of leaders in sustainable tourism, a vital sector for Cyprus and Europe.
