Professor Andreas Charalambous elected Chair of the Council of CYQAA

The 130th meeting of the Council of the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA) marked the first session of the newly appointed Council, following its appointment by the Council of Ministers for the term 23 January 2026 – 22 January 2031.

During the meeting, and in accordance with the relevant legislation, Professor Andreas Charalambous, Executive Vice President for Health at UNIC, was unanimously elected Chair of the Council. Professor Andreas Anayiotos, of the Cyprus University of Technology, was unanimously elected Vice Chair.

Professor Charalambous previously served on the Council of CYQAA from January 2021 to January 2026, during the second term of the Presidency of Professor Mary Koutselini of the University of Cyprus.
