The Department of Architecture [ARC], cordially invites you to the lecture of Dr. Javier Sánchez Merina, “Reflections” that will take place on Friday Oct. the 23rd @ 17:30, at Architecture Research Center, University of Nicosia.
Javier Sánchez Merina, professor at Alicante University (Spain) and visiting professor at Carleton University (Ottawa).
An analysis of the courses developed for the students in London, Alicante and Ottawa reveals an important relationship between teaching, research and professional practice. The courses open two lines of research:

Architecture is no longer self-referential; it is committed to new territories within the social setting and culture.

A call for a stronger relationship between the architect and the client, which leads to creating a project.
His work has been awarded the Murcia Region’s First Prize of Architecture, nominated for the Mies van der Rohe European Union Prize, and his therapeutic architecture
