The UNIC Dance Programme presents their annual faculty choreographed performance DANCE Forward featuring performances by the University of Nicosia students with guests of University of California Santa Barbara Dance Company.
We are happy to welcome the University of California Dance Company for the second time establishing our fruitful artistic collaboration. The students of both dance programmes engage in joint masterclasses, theoretical discussions, and performance providing opportunities for cultural exchange.
The performance features news works by the University of Nicosia dance including faculty Lia Haraki, Alexander Michael, and Dara Milovanovic showcasing the work and progress of students throughout their study. This is a unique opportunity to see reconstruction of two works by Jose Limon, a pillar of American modern dance, set by Alice Condodina, UCSB Professor Emeritus and former principal dance of the Limon Dance Company. Alongside this monumental glimpse into the history of contemporary dance, the UCSB dance company under the artistic direction of Delila Moseley will present new works by Stephanie Gilliland and Andrea Miller.
