The University of Nicosia Medical School Keynote Lecture
Childhood myopia: Let’s not be short-sighted about it!

The Pantheo Eye Center Annual Congress 2023 will take place between the 22-23rd of April 2023 in Amathus Beach Hotel,Limassol Cyprus. The congress is held under the auspices of the Cyprus Ophthalmological Society and in conjunction with the Midland Ophthalmological Society, UK and the Medical School of the University of Nicosia
The congress will start with cocktail reception and interesting case presentations at Pantheo Eye Center on the 21st. Lectures will start on Saturday 22nd of April, finishing on the 23rd of April.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dr Johannes P. Eisenack is the Ophthalmology Lead of the University of Nicosia Medical School at Klinik Hirslanden, Zurich, which is part of Hirslanden Group, the largest medical network in Switzerland, which comprises 17 hospitals, more than 100 competence centres and over 2,000 doctors. Dr Eisenack graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2006 from the University of Homburg/Saar in Germany, and was trained in various countries, including Sweden and the USA. His research interests lie in the field of retina diseases.
Johannes founded the Bellevue Eye Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2019, following his passion in children’s ophthalmology. He was the head of the department of paediatric ophthalmology, strabology and neuro-ophthalmology at the Eye Clinic City-Hospital of Zurich (Triemli-Spital), from 2015 to 2020. Before that, he was a Leading Consultant for paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, neuro-ophthalmology and neonatology at the University Hospital and Children’s University Hospital, Zurich.
Throughout his career, Dr Eisenack has published in numerous scientific journals and textbooks. He has extensive experience as a lecturer and a keynote speaker, and he is a member of several professional associations, including being a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO) since 2012. Johannes is currently training his 2 1/2 years old son how to ski, and his newborn baby how to swim. As a dedicated father and husband, he cherishes the time he spends with his family.
