Public Health Lecture Series expands to UNIC Athens
The Medical School launched a Public Health Lecture Series at UNIC Athens, in collaboration with the Municipality of Elliniko-Argyroupoli. The initiative is part of the Medical School’s ongoing commitment to promoting public health education by bringing together academics, healthcare professionals and the wider community to explore key issues in prevention, early diagnosis and advances in medical care.
The monthly lecture series was launched last April with ‘Breast Cancer and Modern Treatment: The Importance of Screening’ by Clinical Associate Professor, Stergios Douvetzemis. It continued in May with ‘Emerging Infectious Diseases and Future Pandemics’ by Professor of Paediatric Infectious Diseases, Nikolaos Spyridis and in June with a lecture on ‘Advancements in Assisted Reproductive Technologies’ by Associate Professor of Embryology, Ioannis Sfontouris.
With the new academic year, the series will continue with monthly lectures covering a fresh range of important public health topics.
