Over 90 personal doctors met at UNIC’s Discovery Hall last Saturday for the Medical School’s third annual Family Medicine Conference, supported by Cyprus’s three medical societies representing personal doctors.
In his welcome address, Professor Adonis Ioannides, Dean of the Medical School, stated: ‘This conference demonstrates our Medical School’s commitment to continuously improving healthcare services and advancing knowledge in Family Medicine, providing personal doctors with a platform to exchange views, share best practices, and stay informed about the latest developments in their field’.
Professor Athena Tatsioni from the University of Ioannina, Director of the Research Laboratory in General Medicine and Primary Healthcare, delivered the keynote address on improving patient care quality within Cyprus’s developing healthcare system.
The conference covered key medical topics including type 2 diabetes management, elderly care services, heart failure treatment, lung cancer, and chronic conditions such as myalgic encephalomyelitis. Sessions also addressed women’s health issues and dermatological conditions.
The event received coverage across major TV news bulletins, highlighting its significance for Cyprus’s healthcare sector.
