The University of Nicosia Medical School organised a two-day event on 29 and 30 June 2023 which brought together representatives from the NEOLAiA Medicine and Health Group as well as colleagues from the Medical, Life and Health Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Schools of the University of Nicosia.
During the event, participants had constructive discussions on several research and educational priority areas, with attendees exploring various possibilities for collaborations and partnerships for promoting research and mobility opportunities for students and faculty. The meeting aimed at further strengthening the NEOLAiA Alliance vision for an open and inclusive educational and social environment, ensuring that the diverse communities within academia, and in the regions, feel connected and committed to work together to face the global challenges and find solutions to common concerns such as Global Health to improve well-being for all.
The European University Alliance NEOLAiA application for funding by the European Commission has been approved with a total budget of 14.25 million euro, and consists of nine universities: Bielefeld University (Germany), University of Jaén (Spain), University of Nicosia (Cyprus), Örebro University (Sweden), University of Ostrava (Czech Republic), University of Salerno (Italy), “Ștefan cel Mare” University of Suceava (Romania), University of Tours (France) and Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences (Lithuania).
