New clinical training partnership with Konstanz Healthcare Network in Germany

We are pleased to announce that the Medical School has entered into a new student training agreement with the Gesundheitsverbund Landkreis Konstanz (GLKN), comprising Klinikum Konstanz GmbH and Hegau-Bodensee-Klinikum Singen GmbH in Germany. GLKN is the largest healthcare provider in the western Lake Konstanz region of Germany, operating over 1,200 beds and offering comprehensive medical services. This partnership adds to our existing clinical training portfolio including placements in Cyprus, Greece, Switzerland, UK, USA, and Israel.

The agreement establishes comprehensive clinical training placements for students in their penultimate and final years of the MD programme and includes student research opportunities.

Professor Dr. Wolfgang Krueger, Medical Director GLKN Klinikum Konstanz, commented: ‘We are delighted to welcome University of Nicosia medical students to our facilities. This partnership enables us to share our clinical expertise whilst learning from the international perspective that these students bring to our healthcare teams’.

Dipl.-Volksw. Bernd Sieber, Managing Director GLKN GmbH, added: ‘This collaboration represents our commitment to fostering international medical education. We look forward to contributing to the development of the next generation of medical professionals through high-quality clinical training’.

Professor Andreas Charalambous, Executive Vice President of UNIC Health emphasised that: ‘This new partnership with the Konstanz healthcare network represents another milestone in our ongoing efforts to expand and enrich the clinical education opportunities available to our medical students whilst supporting the international dimension of medical education’.
