Navigating the New Digital Rulebook: AI, LegalTech & EU Platform Regulation

The University of Nicosia’s Master in Technology Regulation (MA) E-Learning/Distance Learning organised a webinar on Wednesday, 16 July 2025, titled “Navigating the New Digital Rulebook: AI, LegalTech & EU Platform Regulation”.

The webinar focused on legal, tech, and policy sectors, reflecting growing global interest in the EU’s digital regulatory agenda and the disruptive impact of artificial intelligence on legal practice. It highlighted the implications of the EU’s fast-evolving legal framework—covering the Digital Services Act (DSA), Digital Markets Act (DMA), and Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA)—and explored how generative AI, predictive analytics, and emerging LegalTech solutions are reshaping not only legal work, but also the role of regulators, businesses, and consumers in the digital age.

The webinar featured presentations by distinguished academics Professor Phedon Nicolaides and Associate Professor Dimitrios Koukiadis. Professor Irini Stamatoudi, Head of the Department of Law, coordinated the session.

The event highlighted the University of Nicosia’s innovative Master in Technology Regulation programme, designed to equip legal and tech professionals with the knowledge and tools to lead in this dynamic and rapidly evolving field.

The presentations were followed by a discussion, offering participants the opportunity to exchange perspectives on emerging issues at the intersection of technology, law, and policy.
