The workshop ‘Social Movements in Europe and the Middle East: Interpreting the Anti-Austerity and Pro-Democracy Protests’ is organised within the framework of the project Resources for Democracy, implemented by the NGO Support Centre in collaboration with the University of Nicosia and SeeD and with the support of UNDP-ACT.

 

The workshop will take place on Friday, 8th May and Saturday, 9th May 2015 at the Home for Co-operation.

 

The workshop seeks to examine, analyse and more importantly, discuss the protest and social movements of Egypt, Greece and Turkey along with the ‘Cypriot reality’.

 

Speakers include: Dr. Nicos Peristianis (University of Nicosia), Dr. Ahmet Sozen (SeeD), Ms. Nelly Colbert (Lazord Foundation), Dr. Stefanos Vallianatos (Anna Lindh Foundation Greece) and Dr. Tugrul Ilter (Center of Research and  Communication for Peace).
