The Department of Architecture, University of Nicosia and the Urban Gorillas, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy, cordially invites you to the lecture “Unpacking Urban Fields@Cyprus”of Daniele Mancini Urban Fields / UNPACKED. This lecture is taking place within the framework of the Green Urban Lab which is supported by the EEA Grants / Norway Grants.
The lecture will take place at the Architecture Research Center, University of Nicosia, Tuesday, 9th September 2014 at 19:00.
Daniele Mancini (Roma, 1974), architect, holds a PhD in Theory of Architecture at the School of Architecture in Roma La Sapienza University where he’s currently involved in research and teaching activities as Adjunct Professor. He’s Master in Interaction Design and Specialized in History of Architectural Design. He worked in the Netherlands at Wiel Arets (2001-2002) and Paris at Jakob+MacFarlane (2003). In 2002 he also co-designed the Illy Lounge and the ASAC Pavillon at Biennale di Venezia with the international awarded architects CLIOSTRAAT. Daniele has been also an effective member of the CICCIO Group whom he designed numbers of inflatable and interactive spatial objects with displayed in Rome, Turin, Ivrea, Florence, Paris, Beijing, London and Milan. He contributes to the most important Italian architectural magazines among them Arch’It, Parametro, Spazio Architettura and BTA. In January 2005 he has founded with his partner Irene Rinaldi UNPACKED an interdisciplinary think thank supporting a variety of creative initiatives. He’s also coordinating the activity of the group URBAN FIELDS, focusing on relational architecture in the public space. From 2009 he’s also founder and senior associate at Mancini Architetti & Associati firm of architecture. He’s been visiting teacher at NABA Milan, IED Roma, Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, Cornell University New York in Roma, École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Versailles. In 2011 he’s been invited to present his projects at MAXXI Museum of Art and Architecture in Roma.
