The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Cyprus Section, in collaboration with the University of Nicosia’s Department of Engineering, is pleased to announce an upcoming technical lecture entitled: “Artificial Lift Methods and Recent Advancements in Technology” by Anton Shakirov, Program Chair of SPE Cyprus and CEO at Lex. The event will take place on December 15, 2025, at the University of Nicosia Main Campus, at the Jean Monnet (M203) amphitheater.
This lecture will provide a comprehensive overview of artificial lift systems, which are critical to the global energy sector for maintaining and optimizing hydrocarbon production. Mr. Shakirov will explore major lifting methods, address current operational challenges in oil and gas, and introduce the latest technological solutions available in the market. Designed to be accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences, the presentation aims to demystify how oil is produced and highlight innovations driving efficiency in the industry.
The event is part of a seminar series started by the SPE Cyprus chapter supported by the Department of Engineering of the University of Nicosia showing the ongoing commitment to knowledge sharing, professional development, and fostering connections between industry experts, academics, and students in the energy community.
