You are invited to the lecture titled “Arius Multiplex Multiformis” of Sebastiano Provenziano and the relevant discussion during the course ‘Contemporary Architects’ run by Yiorgos Hadjichristou at the Architecture Department of the University of Nicosia.
The contribution will present a selection of the works of the Studio Provenzano Architetti Associati through a thread of reading that intends to propose a reflection on the role, opportunities and difficulties of the profession of architect in southern Italy.
Sebastiano Provenzano, Architect, PhD (Palermo 1978)
Graduated, after a period of study in Germany, at the Faculty of Architecture of Palermo in 2003, then he obtained a Master’s Degree in Design at the Milan Polytechnic and, in 2006, a PhD in Design at the University of Catania. In 2009 he was a researcher at the University of Palermo and from 2011 he taught, as Adjunct Professor, Architectural Design at the Polytechnic School of the University of Palermo. Over the years, he has been a consultant for public administrations on several projects of urban and territorial architectural interest, gaining specific experience in the field of public works. In 2016 he completed a post-graduate course in Project Management for Public Works at the Bocconi University of Milan.
He carries out professional activity in Palermo with whom he associates his academic and research commitments. It boasts numerous collaborations with foreign design firms in Greece and Spain. President of the Balàd Cultural Association, which is committed to the dissemination of architectural culture through events, workshops and seminars. Since 2010 he is a partner of Studio Provenzano Architetti Associati founded in 1971. Provenzano Architetti Associati works for public and private clients in the fields of architectural design, urban planning and interior design, has won international architectural competitions and awards.
He is the author of publications on the theme of the architectural and urban project. Since 2014 he is Honorary Consul of the Republic of Cyprus for the Sicily Region.
