Ekaterina Alabina is an External Associate at the Procedural Law Unit (PLU) of the University of Nicosia. Her research focuses on civil procedure, access to justice, artificial intelligence in judicial decision-making, and the impact of emerging technologies on the rule of law. She is actively involved in research examining AI-assisted judicial systems, comparative decision-making, and the development of European Research Council (ERC) grant proposals in the field of AI and justice. Ekaterina holds an LLB from the University of Nicosia and has pursued postgraduate studies in Energy and Climate Law at the University of Groningen. Her previous research explored legal and regulatory issues relating to sustainable aviation fuels, carbon dioxide removal technologies, and the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS). She is currently completing her legal training at Harris Kyriakides LLC.
