On Wednesday 28th of June 2023, the Association of Consulting Engineers Electrical, Mechanical & Energy of Cyprus honored the outstanding senior year projects of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students at the University of Nicosia. Mr Glafkos Georghiou, President of the Association, presented awards to Travis Mackie from the Mechanical Engineering programme and Marcos Melas from the Electrical Engineering programme.

The Marine & Carbon Lab organizes a training workshop on 3D printing. During the training, attendees will get the opportunity to design and print a small item.

Commercial space flights will continue to rise as reusable space vehicle technology will allow space transportation at a low cost. This is also evident by the recent flights of SpaceX, Virgin Galactic, and the New Shepard space ships. The paper shows that pollution from rockets should not be underestimated as frequent future rocket launches could have a significant cumulative effect on climate.

Forty-five and twenty-four percent of anthropogenic nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM2.5) emissions originate from vehicles and combustion sources, respectively. In fact, Cyprus, according to the European Environment Agency, in 2018 exhibited the second highest NOx concentration in Europe.
