The Procedural Law Unit at the University of Nicosia is pleased to announce that its 6th Annual Courts and Justice Conference will take place on Friday, the 4th of December 2026, between 09:00 and 16:00, at UNESCO Amphitheatre, University of Nicosia. This year’s conference will focus on the theme: The Algorithmic Courtroom: Trust, Accountability, and the Future of Justice.

 The conference will examine perceptions of the use of artificial intelligence in adjudication, focusing on the legal, institutional, ethical, and technological conditions under which AI may be used, or considered for use, in judicial decision-making and court processes. As courts and justice systems increasingly engage with emerging technologies, important questions arise concerning transparency, accountability, procedural fairness, judicial independence, human oversight, and public trust. The conference aims to foster interdisciplinary discussion on the opportunities, risks, limitations, and safeguards associated with the use of AI in adjudication. It will feature scholars, practitioners, judges, policymakers, technologists, and early-career researchers.
