Lab Overview  

Evolve Molecular Testing provides UNIC Evolve with a dedicated post-amplification environment for sensitive molecular detection and quantification. Its separation from clean pre-PCR spaces is a critical design feature, reducing contamination risk and strengthening confidence in high-sensitivity results.  

Research & Innovation Focus  

The lab supports qPCR, digital PCR, sealed-plate workflows, and post-amplification molecular analysis. It is designed for programmes where precise detection, copy-number quantification, mutation screening, microbial monitoring, or molecular validation is essential. Its role is especially important in translational science, where discovery-stage molecular findings must be converted into targeted, reproducible assays.  

Core Capabilities  

Core capabilities include real-time PCR and high-resolution melt analysis through the Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q 5plex MDx HRM system, absolute molecular quantification through the Qiagen QIAcuity One Digital PCR System 5plex, sealed-plate handling through the ALPS 30 heat sealer, and dedicated post-PCR infrastructure.  

Applications & Impact  

Applications include precision diagnostics research, pathogen detection, genetic variant validation, rare molecular signal quantification, microbiome assay development, food and environmental molecular testing, and verification of sequencing-derived findings. Digital PCR capability is particularly valuable where low-abundance nucleic acids or highly quantitative molecular endpoints are required.
