Lab Overview
Evolve Library Preparation is the clean molecular gateway for genomic and transcriptomic discovery within UNIC Evolve. Its mission is to protect the integrity of non-amplified nucleic acids before sequencing or molecular analysis, ensuring that downstream biological insight rests on defensible sample preparation, contamination control, and high-quality molecular input.
Research & Innovation Focus
The lab enables nucleic-acid extraction, DNA and RNA library construction, molecular shearing, single-cell front-end quality control, and pre-sequencing validation. It supports genomics, transcriptomics, microbiome research, single-cell workflows, precision medicine studies, and molecular epidemiology. Strategically, it is the foundation for reliable biological AI: without clean, traceable, high-quality molecular preparation, advanced analytics cannot produce trustworthy biological inference.
Core Capabilities
Capabilities include automated extraction, PCR-clean preparation, controlled DNA and RNA fragmentation, single-cell workflow quality control, nucleic-acid quantification, fragment analysis, and plate-based molecular handling. Key platforms include the Thermo Fisher KingFisher Apex, AURA MINI PCR clean enclosure, Covaris LE220-Plus, BD Rhapsody QC Scanner, Qubit 4 NGS fluorometer, QIAxcel Connect, and Axygen mini plate spinner.
Applications & Impact
The lab supports precision medicine, genetic analysis, microbiome profiling, population health research, biomarker discovery, rare-disease investigation, pharmacogenomics, and computational biology. It enables data streams that can feed machine-learning models, patient stratification frameworks, molecular diagnostics, and research programmes requiring reproducible sequence-ready material.
