The NEOLAiA Extended Reality Lab, a state-of-the-art virtual, augmented and mixed reality technologies lab, is a purpose-built Extended Reality (XR) facility designed to support teaching, research, and immersive demonstrations in cutting-edge digital media. Students experiment with virtual and mixed reality so they can prototype the experiences employers are now requesting, from interactive exhibitions to metaverse apps.

This includes two independent immersive VR installations and facilities for teaching including 16 high-end workstation The NEOLAiA Extended Reality Lab accommodates up to 16 students, each equipped with a dedicated VR workstation powered by NVIDIA 20-series GPUs and paired with Meta Quest headsets — including 5 Quest 3, 8 Quest 3s, and 3 Quest 2 devices — supporting both PCVR and standalone application development.

Beyond XR, all workstations are optimized for Generative AI image and video creation, enabling experimentation across emerging creative technologies. The lab also features two 5x5m play areas with HTC Vive systems for spatial interaction and full-scale VR research.

A high-end research workstation equipped with the latest NVIDIA 50-series GPU further extends the lab’s capabilities, providing advanced computing power for Metaverse development, real-time rendering, and next-generation interactive media projects.

A suite of VR workstations and spacious play areas support extended-reality classes, generative-AI experiments, and real-time 3D research.
