Call for Applications (Teaching and Training) 2026-2027

FOR FACULTY STAFF (Staff for Teaching Assignment – STA)

Only full-time faculty are eligible for the STA.

Staff Mobility for Teaching (STA) can cover any subject area or academic discipline relevant to the faculty member’s expertise. The receiving institution (host institution) must agree on the visiting faculty member’s program of activities through the co-development and signing of the Mobility Agreement before the start of the mobility period. The teaching assignment should be integrated into the curriculum of the receiving host institution.

It is highly recommended that faculty actively engage in dissemination activities at the host institution. This can include presentations about the University of Nicosia, meetings with potential students, and discussions on joint research programs or future collaborations.

Regarding teaching assignments, the host institution in any of the Program Countries should hold the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) with a signed bilateral agreement with the University of Nicosia.

Duration for International Mobility – Staff Teaching Assignment: minimum five (5) working days of mobility, excluding travel days. Please check the table following the link international partner Universities and specifically columns ‘Duration of Mobility and Travel Days’ for more details about the minimum number of working days and travel days per country. This period of teaching must include at least 8 hours of teaching.

Erasmus+ STA funding opportunities are open to all full-time faculty of the University of Nicosia. Applicants are required to submit a completed application form, including all the listed documents in the guidelines, which consist of the Erasmus+ Mobility – Declaration of Support Form, and a detailed programme (if applicable), within the set deadline.

The Erasmus+ Selection Committee of the University of Nicosia will evaluate all applications based on predefined selection criteria.

A teaching grant consists of the Individual Support (daily per diem) and the Travel Grant that is determined by the Erasmus distance calculator and bands, as outlined here.

  1. Expected Outcomes and Benefits for Faculty
    • Anticipated benefits of the mobility for faculty include teaching at another university, development, and exposure to new teaching materials, methods, and procedures.
  1. Expected Output for the School/Department/Program
    • Potential additional value through specific mobility such as joint research projects, joint degrees, joint funding applications, conference organization, and Erasmus+ bilateral agreements.
  1. Alignment with University Strategic Aims
    • Compliance with the Strategic Aims of the University as outlined in the University of Nicosia Erasmus Charter.
  1. Identification of Host Institutions
    • Applicants must identify specific higher education institutions in a participating country.
  1. Priority for New Applicants
    • Priority will be given to applicants who have not received an Erasmus+ grant (either European or International) within the last three (3) years.
  1. Application Limits
    • Only one (1) application for European mobility, one (1) for International Credit Mobility, and one (1) Invited Guest application can be accepted.
  1. Disqualification for Excessive Applications
    • Anyone submitting more than three (3) applications under the ERASMUS+ Staff Mobility Call for Applications (EU, Invited Guest and ICM): Teaching and/or Training) 2026-2027 will be disqualified.

The deadline for this round of the call for applications is Friday, 2 October 2026.

All planned European mobilities should be undertaken and finalized by the end of September 2027.

FOR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF AND FACULTY (Staff for Training – STT)

Only full-time faculty and administrative staff are eligible for International STT mobility.

Regarding International STT mobility, the receiving host institution must be in a partner country from the following International partner Universities and field of cooperation. Agreement on the program of activities of the visiting administrative staff and/or faculty member through the co-development and signing of the Mobility Agreement, prior to the start of the mobility period, is mandatory.

Minimum five (5) working days of mobility excluding travel days. Please check the table of international partner Universities and specifically ‘Travel Days’ for more details about the minimum number of working days and travel days per country.

International Erasmus+ STT funding opportunities are open to all full-time faculty and administrative staff of the University of Nicosia. Applicants are required to submit a completed application form, including all the listed documents in the guidelines, which consist of Erasmus+ Mobility – Declaration of Support Form, and a detailed program (if applicable), within the set deadline. The Erasmus+ Staff Selection Committee of the University of Nicosia will evaluate all applications based on predefined selection criteria.

    • Potential contributions such as new methods of working, best practices, development of standards, joint research projects, joint degrees, joint funding applications, and conference organization.
  1. Alignment with University Strategic Aims
    • Applicants must identify specific host enterprises or higher education institutions in a participating country.
  1. Priority for New Applicants
    • Priority will be given to colleagues who have not received an Erasmus+ grant within the last three (3) years.
  1. Application Limits
    • Only one (1) application for European mobility, one (1) for International Credit Mobility and one (1) for Invited Guest can be accepted.
  1. Disqualification
    • Anyone submitting more than three (3) applications under the ERASMUS+ Staff Mobility Call for Applications (EU and/or ICM Teaching and Training) 2024-2025 will be disqualified.
    • Incomplete application forms and those that are not detailed will be disqualified

The deadline for this round of the call for applications is Friday, 2 October 2026.

Some of the planned International mobilities should be finalized by 31 July 2027, and others by 31 July 2028.
