Call for Applications (Teaching and Training) 2023-2024

FOR FACULTY STAFF (Staff for Teaching Assignment – STA)

Only full-time faculty members are eligible for the STA.

Concerning International Mobility, the receiving host institution must be in a partner country from the following List of international partner Universities under their field of expertise. Agreement on the programme of activities of the visiting faculty member through the co-development and signing of the Mobility Agreement, prior to the start of the mobility period, is mandatory. The teaching assignment must be integrated in the curriculum of the receiving host institution.

Duration for International Mobility – Staff Teaching Assignment: minimum 5 working days of mobility excluding travel days. Please check the table ‘List of international partner Universities under their field of expertise’ and specifically columns ‘Duration of Mobility and Travel Days’ for more details about the minimum amount of working days and travel days per country. This period must also include at least 8 hours of teaching.

International Erasmus+ STA funding opportunities are open to all full-time faculty of the University of Nicosia. Applicants are required to submit a completed application form, including all the listed documents in the guidelines, which consist of a recommendation from the Head of Department, a short CV and a detailed programme (if applicable), within the set deadline. The Erasmus+ Selection Committee of the University of Nicosia will evaluate all applications based on predefined selection criteria.

An International teaching grant consists of the Individual Support (daily per diem), set at 180 EUR per day, and a Travel Grant in accordance to the distance to be travelled determined by the distance bands set by the EU.

  1. Expected outcomes and benefits of the mobility to faculty (e.g. teaching, teaching material, methods, procedures)
  2. Expected output of the mobility to the School/Department/Programme of studies (e.g. joint research projects, joint degrees, joint funding applications, conference organization, Erasmus+ bilateral agreements)
  3. Compliance with the Strategic Aims of the University as outlined in the University of Nicosia Erasmus Charter
  4. Colleagues who have not received an Erasmus+ grant within the last three (3) years will have priority.
  5. The selection will aim at an equitable distribution of mobilities among Schools and Departments.
  6. Priority will be given to individuals who have contributed to the drafting of the proposal

The deadline for this round of the call for applications is Saturday, 30 September 2023.

Some of the planned International mobilities should be finalized by the 31 of July 2025 whereas others by the 31 July 2026. Please contact the Erasmus Office for clarification.

FOR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF AND FACULTY (Staff for Training – STT)

Only full-time faculty and administrative staff are eligible for for International STT mobility.

Regarding International STT Mobility, the receiving host institution must be in a partner country from the following List of international partner Universities under their field of expertise. Agreement on the programme of activities of the visiting administrative staff and/or faculty member through the co-development and signing of the Mobility Agreement, prior to the start of the mobility period, is mandatory.

Minimum 5 working days of mobility excluding travel days.
