AI-Powered Healthcare Innovation: Driving Real-World Impact and Advancing Pharmacovigilance

The University of Nicosia’s MSc in Drug Regulatory Affairs, E-Learning/Distance Learning (Online) programme organised a webinar on Thursday, 3 July 2025, titled “AI-Powered Healthcare Innovation: Driving Real-World Impact and Advancing Pharmacovigilance”.

The webinar focused on the transformative effects of Artificial Intelligence on healthcare innovation and pharmacovigilance. It examined how traditional pharmacovigilance (PV) methods face challenges and explored how Artificial Intelligence is revolutionising PV with faster, more intelligent, predictive systems for patient safety. The session also addressed why many health innovations fail to deliver real-world outcomes and identified factors that drive successful, sustainable healthcare innovation.

The webinar featured presentations by distinguished academics Dr Dimitris Zampatis and Dr Evie Maifoshie. Professor Lefteris Zacharia, Programme Coordinator of the University of Nicosia’s MSc in Drug Regulatory Affairs programme, coordinated the session.
